Anti-roll bar front on Phase 1?

I have a 1.8 from 1999. I don't see the anti-roll bar at the front (only at the rear). Is this only fitted on phase II?

Maybe someone removed it to eliminate anti-roll bar bush squeaks... :-) Dutch, has your car been damaged at the front ever??? Did the previous owner carry out extensive modes????

I don't know if my car has had damage at the front ever. How can I see that? Are there typical checks to determine damage from the past at the front?
