help : Starting on the PC side

MessageAuthor

Hi, I have been using PT TDM since 1999 in MACs ( G3s, G4s) and now I fell I must enter the PC territory. Is an Athlon XP2000/256MBRAM good enough for a spare daw station with PT24/Adat Bridge/Win2000? I imagine I must expand its memory. Any other tips and special care tweaking such machines? Thanks in advance

RE: help : Starting on the PC side

Greetings. I would start by looking at the compatibility pages here on the Digidesign website. There are also some users here with really good information on how to set up a Windows machine for Pro Tools. Nikki-k is one and Rail is another that immediately come to mind. Spend some time reading and you can get pretty good instructions on what to build. Hope this helps. Nate
