I guess it depends what you plan on crashing into! I may be a bit of an old cynic, but when I see things like Renault Clios and Fiat Puntos being awarded a 5 star Euro Ncap result I can't help wondering if they are actually that safe in a shunt, or if the manufacturers have just cottoned on to how to score well in the test. If I had to crash something, it'd be either a big Volvo or an S class Benz!
Modern cars are without dought more safer than older models FACT ! Ok the older cars where certainly made from a tougher metal , but nowadays with airbags everywhere some also to protect the knee and curtain airbags etc........ it goes without saying that modern cars are most certainly safer for driver and passengers . Times move on , technology advances all the time for safety aspects .
