29.970 NTSC Progressive

foxyshadis: DGIndex says: NTSC type. Force FILM isn't ok here.

1) Is outdated; 2) I can't agree with many of the statements there; but it gives a rather clear explanation on using ForceFilm. I've got few NTSC 29.970 DVDs, mostly 16:9 widescreen Hollywood's productions, which are showed as progressive, 99%/100% FILM, and have visible interlacing artefacts while previewing with DGIndex. I have run into some very bad sources that are NTSC 29.97 progressive. They were shot on miniDV 60i (XL-1) (I know the filmmaker and chastised him for his silly behavior), and he deinterlaced it in Final Cut Pro (hahahaha). The result was hideous!! ~MiSfit
