B21A to B23A

Can anyone advise me about how easy it is to swap a B21a engine for a B23A engine and how easy it would it be to do, I know carbs engines are easier to play with than injection but this is my first carb engined volvo! Please help! Oh and where can I get one from? Thanks Chaps!

Easy, easy, EASY. Just unbolt one and remove, drop replacement in. For you it will come under the very easy rating. Best of luck. The silver top engines are harder to find now. You could possibly use a B230E and drop the carb manifold onto it. Mike

Yes as Mike said they are literally just plug and play, I love Carb engines, there just so simplistic!!

A engine to A engine is easy Just remember if you do use a B230E injection engine you will have to block up the injector holes in the head or leave the injectors in place. It just complicates matters, likewise if you find a B230K engine the head is different I would stick to the simple B23A and then think about a couple of 40 DCOE's..........well I can dream can't I.?
